The FineArt Igualada Festival is a photography event that features the works of photographers from all over the world. The exhibitions are spread over several ephemeral photographic showrooms.
One of the exhibitions has been the project: "Sota la pell del Rec", managed and curated by GRUP CERCA (Grup de Recerca en Ciències Socials), which among other studies, dedicates its efforts to collect the oral information of the industrial district of the Rec, in Igualada.
Marc Martí has produced all the panels of the exhibition, printed on technical cardboard, as well as an impressive canvas, which shows an old map of the neighbourhood, where all the industries were located, from one end of the irrigation system to the other, and which serves to show where each of the protagonists worked.
A non-profit project, dedicated to collecting in audiovisual format the experiences of people from the region of the Anoia. The current collection is almost 300 interviews. Based on these oral testimonies, different researches and documentaries have been carried out: how the Ateneo Igualadino schools were before the war, in La escuela de mi vida; the arrival of the immigration in the 50's and 60's to Vilanova del Camí, in Tú también haces historia; the territorial and social interrelations in Calaf and its crown of up to eight towns, with the Proyecto Memoral; the local stories of Montbui both in the town and in the neighbourhood, etc.
Since 2014, they have been working on the project Under the Skin of the REC in order to "make the stones speak" of this industrial district of Igualada and document its transformation. The photographs on display are those of the protagonists of this story. The author of the images is the photographer from Igualada, Joan Solé, and they are taken in the old Bella tannery, in the middle of the Rec district in Igualada.
